Certified Nursing Assistant or CNA for short is a great and rewarding career especially for those who have the passion for health care. Also it is a good career path for those who are compassionate to help and to give assistance to other people especially for those who are sick. Patience and understanding are important factors for this career. If you lack those factors then surely you will fail and this career path is not for you. But if you are patient, understanding and have that desire to help the society then you are taking the right career path and here are some things you need to know in order for you to become a CNA.

Getting a high school diploma or a GED is the first step you need to do in order for you to become a CNA. The next thing you need to do is to find a university near you or search for an online course that offers a Certified Nursing Assistant certificate program. This CNA certificate program is usually a 6-12 weeks program course, but you need to know that the time required for the program may vary depending on which university or online course you are enrolled. The training program includes theoretical education for about 75 hours and a medical practice where you will be assigned to a health care institute or a hospital for about 16 hours. After you have completed the training program you need to take a test that will certify you as a nursing assistant. In some places taking the test is not required; completion of the CNA training is enough in order for you to practice your career in those places. But it is more desirable that you passed the CNA exam in order for you to officially become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant is indeed easy as 1-2-3. You just need to get a high school diploma, enrol in a CNA training program and pass the CNA exam. You are just three steps away to a fulfilling career that pays high.
